"Romancing the Strobe"

"Romancing the Strobe" is geared for the amateur photographer as well as the seasoned pro. Ernie & Lorraine will guide you through what has made them a success for a combination of over 60 years.  All those years were not successful years, we all have to start somewhere. It took those years of growth to make them what is now one the most successful portrait & wedding teems in the southeast.  They will demonstrate what has made their style sought after.  Ernie will show you what equipment he use for sittings and what equipment they use on weddings. Along with why and how it works to keep it simple. How to double light, combining ambient lights with strobe to make it all come together. What strobes to use & why, as well as incandescent lights, what to look for when on location.
Lorraine will go over time saving tips on assisting the photographer as well as how they are pre-selling during the wedding or the sessions. 
They will both discuss topics that make their studio a success & they keep their clients coming back month after month, year after year. 
We have to set our self apart from all the Aunt Jane & Uncle Joes that have a good Digital Camera.  Learn to Light to make your images stand out from everyone else’s.
Ernie & his wife Lorraine have a Garden studio in the historic town of Franklin TN.  There Garden has been on the Garden tour for Williamson County three different years, an annual fundraising event for the local library, with over six hundred visitors touring the gardens each year. By having a garden studio they have been able to create signature portraits that no one in the area can duplicate. Also making the experience easier with small children we have a changing room the less chance of messed up outfits, & they can easily change outfits.
Their studio has been recognized as the number one studio in Franklin the last six years. They feel that giving their clients quality products consistently has been the key to their success.

A little more information about Ernie, For over forty years the Name Ernie K. Johnson has been synonymous with excellence in photographic technique.  He has established himself as a skilled artisan.  His portraits have produced numerous “Best of Show” and “Loan Collections “awards at exhibitions around the country.  The increasing recognition of his original work has generated a growing demand for his wedding, children & Family Portraits. 
In addition to being Master Photographic Craftsman, Certified.  He has been awarded Photographer of the year 17 different occasions form four different groups. Currently has 19 Kodak Gallery awards (2 were received at Regional) &12 Fuji Masterpiece awards. Ernie has over 475 national merits 72 of witch are print merits He was inducted into the TPPA Hall of Fame in 1996.  After 29 year of service and membership he was honored with Life membership in 2000. Tennessee PPA & American Society of Professional Photographers has honored him with the prestigious National Award.
Ernie was President of TPPA in 1986, Music city PPA in 1983, has served on PPA Council for 16 years.  He currently serves as President of American Society of Professional Photographers, & Ex. Director of Tennessee PPA.
